Contemporary 1930s House Extension

DJD Architects were commissioned by our Client to design a generous, contemporary, kitchen / dining extension to their existing 1930s property.

The extension is designed to maximise light into the space, with roof lanterns and generous glazing.  The existing terrace at the rear has been extended to provide a useable external entertaining area, linked by the bi-fold doors to the dining space.  The dining area maximises the change in the level across the site to provide views out over the tree canopy to the hills beyond.

The existing snug is altered and incorporated into the space, with sliding metal and glass doors allowing for separation, as with the dining space.
