David Davis
BA(Hons), DipArch, MA(Sheffield), RIBA, MFPWS
Director – Chartered Architect

David studied at the University of Sheffield, going on to work in both the public and private sector before founding DJD Architects in 1987. David has worked across all sectors of the business, including residential, care, commercial, industrial, and conservation projects. David acts as a Party Wall surveyor. David sits on the Worcester Conservation Area Advisory Committee.

James Pugh
BA(Hons), DipArch, RIBA
Director – Chartered Architect

James has spent over ten years with the practice since completing his studies at university, having worked his way from Senior Assistant to Director. Involved in a breadth of commercial, residential and domestic projects, James enjoys opportunities to influence project design at both the largest scale and in the smallest detail. A natural inquisitiveness in how things work, alongside an interest in sustainability, and an appreciation of aesthetics, drives a design approach that is both rigorous and human. James is an accredited On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor for SAP and EPC of new build dwellings and has successfully completed the RIBA Principal Designer course.

Kevin Davis
BA(Hons), MArch, RIBA, MFPWS
Director – Chartered Architect

Kevin studied Architecture, Town and Regional Planning at the University of Sheffield. Kevin worked in private practice on a variety of primary healthcare and secure projects before joining DJD Architects. Kevin is project architect for a range of private and affordable housing developments, mixed use and commercial projects. Kevin is also a Party Wall Surveyor and On Construction Domestic Energy (SAP) Assessor. Kevin has successfully completed the RIBA Principal Designer course. Kevin is Treasurer of the Worcestershire Society of Chartered Architects.

Joanna Moyle
Practice Manager

As Practice Manager Joanna’s role includes overseeing the general operation of the business, monitoring and improving our Quality Management System and contributing to strategic and planning activities. Joanna studied Zoology at the University of Durham and has previous experience of commercial and financial management roles with organisations ranging from multinationals to SMEs.

Matthew Adams
BA(Hons) [Interior Architecture], BA(Hons) [Architecture], MArch, ADPPA, RIBA
Associate – Chartered Architect

Matthew has been involved with a range of residential, commercial and historic building projects, including the first rural exception house for which the Practice gained planning consent on the grounds of outstanding design. Matthew has developed expertise in inclusive design. Including, wheelchair accessible dwellings, assisted living accommodation for young adults with learning impairments, and environments for people with dementia. His architectural research continues to explore design for people with physical, sensory and cognitive impairments. Matthew is an accredited On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor for SAP and EPC of new build dwellings, and has successfully completed the RIBA Principal Designer course. Matthew is also a governor of the Worcester Sixth Form College and has served as Chair of the Worcestershire Society of Chartered Architects.

Daniel Hodson
BA(Hons), MArch, ADPPA, RIBA
Chartered Architect

Dan’s professional experiences have allowed him to work throughout the RIBA Work Stages on a variety of projects with a strong focus on project detailing and delivery. Ranging from national retail roll-out schemes to overarching masterplan frameworks; from one off houses to a new bespoke house type range for a growing residential developer. Dan joined DJD after working as an in-house architect for a residential developer, gathering a wealth of experience working closely with individual trades and site management to deliver unique residential properties on challenging and distinctive sites. Dan has a passion for creating distinctive places, focused around people, providing high quality residential developments which help to regenerate local towns and provide people with distinctive communities for people to live in.

Angharad Rees
Architectural Assistant

Angharad joined DJD Architects after completing her undergraduate studies at the University of the West of England, Bristol. During her studies Angharad designed a kitchen garden education centre and has a keen interest in food sustainability, permaculture and landscape architecture. Angharad’s previous experience at a rural Welsh practice included work on domestic extensions, new builds and agricultural conversions for private clients.

Matthew Brookes
Architectural Technologist

Matthew joined DJD Architects after completing his undergraduate studies at the University of the West of England, Bristol. Matthew’s previous experience at a timber frame company included work on small scale design and build projects and residential schemes for private developers. Matthew has a keen interest in adapted and repurposed architecture. At DJD Architects Matthew is working on new build and refurbishment projects.

Liam Horrocks
Architectural Assistant

Liam completed his BA(Hons) Architecture at Northumbria University and has previous onsite experience working for a building contractor on a number of residential properties. Liam has a particular enthusiasm for socially and environmentally sustainable design, as well as a key interest in contemporary art and music.

Myles Lydon
Architectural Assistant

Myles completed his BArch(Hons) at Nottingham Trent University in 2020. Since finishing University, he has undertaken several landscape design and build projects in a number of locations. To assist with the landscape projects, and to further his construction knowledge he undertook a brick laying course.

Amy Churchill
Project Coordinator

Amy joined to practice in 2018 and works as part of our project delivery teams to enhance the service we offer to our clients.
