The Worcestershire County Cricket Club ground, situated within an important conservation area, with dramatic views of Worcester Cathedral across the River Severn, provided a challenge when the Practice was asked to assist with the design of the new stand for the club.
Preservation of the principal views of Worcester Cathedral, and a design with simplicity of concept and elegance were crucial.
The tensile fabric canopies provide shelter to the walkways at the rear of the stand, whilst providing skyline detail to the pavilion view of the new structure.
