The Orchard, Ettington

The Orchard Ettington is a bespoke development of six houses and bungalows for Beau Homes, in Ettington, Warwickshire. DJD Architects worked with the Client from initial feasibility through to completion. The site, nestled in between existing listed buildings required a sensitive response. We worked hard with the Client and to develop a design that sits within its setting, and satisfied the Local Planning Authority.

The site has a range of properties, two bedroom houses, three bedroom bungalows and five bedroom houses. White lias stone picks up on the adjacent listed barn and a Cotswold red brick, on the local brick. All of the properties have timber windows and doors, with each property having individual window design. We worked closely with the landscape architect to integrate the landscape design with the overall scheme design, including hedgerow boundaries to gardens, community orchard and wildflower meadow.

DJD Architects also undertook SAP Assessments for the new properties which were designed with good levels of fabric thermal performance, underfloor heating and air source heat pumps.
