New Private Home, Worcestershire

The design of this home for a private client was developed from an existing permission for an agricultural dwelling on the site. The house faces out across the surrounding fields, with a large glazed gable to maximise the views out, and daylight inside. The gable wall is sheltered by a generous overhanging roof, tapered to reach out toward the view. The thin profile of the roof is achieved with the assistance of a light stainless steel structure which is exposed externally and inside the building.

Internally a high specification fit out including intelligent smart home technology to control the lighting, security and audio-visual systems.

High standards of insulation were incorporated throughout and a range of low-carbon technologies were employed to reduce long term energy and water demand, including a ground source heat pump, rainwater harvesting and solar thermal panels for hot water.
