Renovation and Extension of Listed Farmhouse

North Elevation

Stripping away the layers of modern agricultural sheds surrounding this grade II listed farmhouse and outbuildings brings greater legibility to the historic form and allowed the creation of a large family home adapted to suit the needs of its current owners.

The earlier buildings are to be repaired and refurbished to modern standards, whilst being sympathetic to the traditional design and construction. Traditional materials are to be used and minimal alterations made to the listed fabric, whilst a thoroughly contemporary garden pavilion is added to bring balance to the composition.

An old timber framed threshing barn is converted to provide a games room and entertaining space, and garaging is to be provided in the footprint of former livestock stalls, maintaining the building pattern.

As part of the development, the Victorian dairy is to be converted into a holiday cottage, providing some rental income.
