DJD Architects assisted a private developer Client who had purchased a site with outline permission for 2 no. new houses.
Our initial feasibility identified that the site was actually significantly smaller than was shown on the original planning application.
Working creatively and with the topography of the site full planning permission was achieved for 2 houses with a significant increase in floor area.
The houses have a traditional Cotswold front elevation, sitting well in the street frontage. To the rear they are designed around a private, lowered courtyard garden. Larger glazed doors and screens open onto the courtyard, extending the living space and creating an additional outdoor room.
