Celebrating 30 Years in the Community

In 2017 DJD Architects celebrated the 30th anniversary of the practice. To mark the occasion the team got involved in a number projects for good causes in the communities that we work.

Blindfold Mile for Sight Concern

Kevin and Matthew took part in the sponsored Blindfold Mile for Sight Concern. A sponsored blindfolded walk through Worcester city centre to raise funds and awareness for Sight Concern and the work that they do supporting blind and visually impaired people in Worcestershire.

Volunteering at Wildgoose

In the summer the team from DJD Architects volunteered at the Wildgoose Rural Training Centre’s open day. The wet weather did not dampen our sprits, assisting with crafts, car parking, running the bar and barbequing the sausages.

Worcestershire Architecture Awards

Through participation in the Worcestershire Society of Chartered Architects we helped to organise the first Worcestershire Architecture Awards together with other local chartered architectural practices and support from the RIBA West Midlands regional team. An exhibition of all entries was held at the Guildhall during the Worcester Festival which was well received by the public.

Fortis Living Communities Week

DJD Architects volunteered our time and expertise to provide construction drawings for Building Control consent for Fortis Living’s DIY SOS project, transforming the old caretaker’s house at Oasis Academy into a new Community Hub.

The project was awarded this year’s Fortis Living Communities Week Project of the Year Award at a ceremony on the 6th December 2017.

The Team also participated in the food bank collection organised by by Fortis Living during their Communities Week initiative.

Supporting St Basils Youth Homelessness Charity

This Autumn DJD Architects donated their homepage to raise awareness of the issues around youth homelessness and the outstanding work of St Basils who support thousands of young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness across the West Midlands each year. This year we shall again be making a donation to St Basils in lieu of sending Christmas cards.

Worcester Beer Festival 2017

This year DJD Architects proudly sponsored the Worcester Beer, Cider and Perry Festival for the sixth time. It was another fantastic event and it was so good to welcome so many colleagues, clients, consultants and contractors on the opening night.
